Another Tea Party?

We have too much fun doing tea parties not to do another one. So, around April of 2013 be looking for your invitation to the next tea party.

The tentative theme is a "Madd Tea Party," with young ladies and young gentlemen both invited. What to wear to a Madd Tea Party?  Why a costume of your favorite animal, super hero or literary figure, of course!

Available for little girls

I bought this size 8 dress for $6.50.  I couldn't resist.  It comes with the umbrella, gloves, choker, hoop skirt, hair bow, and bloomers.  LOVE IT.

It's a little short and tight for my growing girl.  Since she has another dress picked out all ready it will be at the next Tea Party for sharing.  Make sure you bring your camera!

Will there be a summer Tea Party?

We have a time, a place, and a date for the next Tea Party!

I can't tell you how excited we are!  It all started with an idea.  I have several old things about that belonged to my grandmother, things one keeps but has no use for, like a few fancy black hats, old handmade aprons, crochet pot-holders, and lots and lots of tea cups.  I was telling Janette about these precious possessions that I have tucked away in closets and cabinets.  A wide, beautiful smile broke out on her face, "We should have a tea party!"

And so we did.

One party is not enough.  So, dears, get ready to put on your dresses and summer gloves.

The next Tea Party will be Saturday, JUNE 16th.

I want to help with this event!

This is not a cry for help, mind you.  This is an invitation to take part of something special and fun.  A chance to fulfill childhood fantasies of the tea party you always wanted attend.  A chance to share those fantasies with a little girl.  Think summer breezes, lemonade, lace, chintz, and laughter.  Think tarts, teapots, dress-up, and playtime.

Do you have a special treat recipes you always wanted to share?  Or one you just wanted to try but it's simply too decadent to have in your home?  (I love to try new sweet recipes, and then eat all of the results!) One of the things that makes a tea party special is the wide variety of treats we offer to the guests: little cakes, cucumber sandwiches, candies, cupcakes, tiny flaky cookies, chocolate cream trifle, savory salad...the list goes on and on.  We think it is more fun to have a lot of platters of different things instead of just one or two choices and the more people offering to supply a platter, the more wonderful, tempting choices there will be!

Not a pot-luck.

This tea party is not a pot-luck.  You don't have to bring anything but yourself to attend.  Please don't feel any pressure.  This is PLAYTIME.

Other ways you can help are:

decorations:  we are looking for anything hot pink or teal that has a tea theme.

dress-up clothes:  long dresses with lace, ruffles, and puffy sleeves.  Think 70's wedding dresses, or 80's prom dresses.  Big Hats would be fun too, and of course, summer gloves.  Long strings of costume pearls.

A croquet set

extra ribbons in pastel and rainbow colors.

paper lace doilies and paper lace place mats

paint pens
